The DHV has asserted through measurements with paragliders that these load variations are between 10 and 110 kg and more and can appear up to 26 times per second. Construction- and production-conditioned conventional karabiners exhibit a more or less large gate play. The catch is not loaded until a load of the karabiner between 25 and 120 kg. That means the karabiner is loaded during flight in the range of the gate play as if the catch was open.
